Vision loss from macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other conditions affects millions of Americans each year and can be a devastating diagnosis that impacts more than your ability to see. Our Mission: To promote independent living through lifelong, distance education programs for people who are blind or visually impaired, their families and blindness service providers. Offering approximately 90 distance education courses in four program areas: Adult Continuing Education, High School Education, Family Education and Professional Education. The courses are free of charge to legally blind persons worldwide. Also offers several courses for parents and families of blind persons as well as blindness professionals. Braille instruction by correspondence is available.

The Louis Braille School is a Washington State approved private day school for children with special needs arising from vision impairment or other challenges.
